I think that was the beggining of Tanny's downfall. When he caved to Revis it just exposed him as a guy who was in over his head. We shouldn't have catered to Revis with years still left on his deal.

He wouldn't have sit out.

Idzik needs to tell Revis play out this year and then lets see. This team just isn't in the position to be redoing someones deal with a year left coming off of knee surgery.

Not to sound jerkish, but honestly, the Jets could have 2 Darelle Revis's, and they would be nowhere NEAR the talent level of the 4 remaining teams in the mix.

I agree revis is HUGE for any defense. I also believe having a very good qb who can throw perfect throws is much more important for the O. Not easy to come by though... Sanchez could never make throws like Ryan..

Really? Cause I don't see a Revis caliber corner on the falcons. Why have they pretty much slowed down one of the most effective offenses in the league? As good a he is he isn't worth QB money, and if he's selfish enough to ask for that then you trade him.

it's a passing league. Shutdown corners like Revis are more and more important.

Pass rusher > Shutdown corner.

A shutdown CB can take away a weapon from the QB. A pass rusher can take away a QB from his weapons. Pretty simple.

I like Revis, but a CB just isn't as important as some think.
