Tanny was also at a Rangers practice recently. Perhaps trying to get tips on how to run a professional sports team

This is identical to when Rex said he'd have a couple SB trophies if he was coaching SD. Rex clearly meant that in a means of saying how good he thought SD was, and Ozzie is clearly saying this as a dig to all those who said Flacco wasn't a good QB. Now the problem is neither applied a filter first to think about how off putting the statement could be when looked from another perspective. Rex never applies a filter unfortunately. Can't say I have heard much of Ozzie pulling this before. I'm sure he'd take it back in hindsight.

An interesting statement considering Ozzie might not have a QB next year if he cannot sign Flacco, the SB MVP already had leverage and now this comment, 120 million dollars or a pink slip, that's one happy agent man

It's ok, he can just sign Tyler Palko, he already beat out Flacco once in his career.

Flacco is the first truly non-elite QB since 2003 (and Brad Johnson was arguably elite that year) to win a Super Bowl.

Congratulations Ozzie, you had a passable QB.
Big Ben was not elite when he won his 1st SB, neither was Eli Manning

Not sure of the #, but it was ALOT.
Well, there was that interception that Kaep threw to Reed. Sanchez has made that one many times

And none of them are elite still.

Agreed. I just didn't put him because he said since 2003. Brady won his 1st the year before.

It's a QB driven league. Our QB sucks donkey balls.

What more do you need to know?

Ozzie is right.

Ozzie is right. It's just not something you normally hear a guy say about his fellow GMs. But I guess those he was referring to aren't GMs anymore and he doesn't have to chat with them at league meetings, etc.

The sky is blue...

And yes, it's the GM's job to find a QB but let's not act like it's easy.

Fact is there will be 3 or 4 QB's selected in the first round this year and AT LEAST 2 of them are going to be garbage.

This would have been newsworthy if he said it a season or two ago.

Saying it now is like holding a presser to declare "ice is cold"

newsome is right and he has the track record to back it up. he got the personnel to get two very different teams to the superbowl. very few players remain from the first team and he has managed to get some darn good players while still being in the hunt. flacco has turned out to be a great pick and is the reason why this team won. this team needed a qb the first team just had a lights out defense. but there's always a chance that pigs will fly and sanchez will somehow learn to be effective. maybe his oline will learn to block down and give him time although there are some stats that say the oline is giving sanchez a good bit of time. so maybe the receivers will break free and catch the ball.

Confirm (at least one)

Jets select Flacco instead of Gholston

Chad stays as mentor, No Favre, No Sanchez, No Tebow

Ravens or Pats draft the Ghost, Miami stays in basement without Chad

Great Oline and Special teams, extra 20M in cap space for FA, maybe avoid Revis holdout
