Running Backs Running Backs

Looking at the RB class, and the fact that shonne greene will thankfully not be part of our team, if there was every a time to find a 2nd string/10 carry rookie back, this was the year.

Below are 15 backs who could either be starters (benard, ball) or at the minimum 10 carry backs as rookies who can also catch the ball - basically exactly what we need.

I hope we wait and see who of these guys "falls" be it a stephan taylor who is available in the 3rd instead of the 2nd or randle/gillislee/barner/graham in the 4th instead of the 3rd

Lacy
Ball
Benard
Ellingon
Bell
Juwan Jamison
Lattimore
Christine Michael
Barner
Knile Davis
Stephan Taylor
Gillislee
Ray Graham
James Franklin
Joseph Randle

Why anyone would want Ball is beyond me. We already have backs that have no explosion, why add another one.

Jonathan Franklin is the guy I am hoping for.

Knile Davis is way ahead on top in the speed score listings.

Also, Stepfan Taylor is way down near the end.

FWIW, Joe McKnight had a 93 in 2010. Powell's was N/A

Well the difference there is that taylor plays every down and is productive while davis gets hurt every year.

Id take taylor over davis in every single scenario.

Kid has it all, including small hands which maybe the reason why he can't hold onto the football. I love the kid, but a RB who fumbles is not worth the time of day.

Nile Davis would be a good pickup in the later rounds. So what the kid gets hurt from time to time. He can prolly be signed for cheap with his injury hostory. There's enough of a high reward/low risk situation there if he's picked in the 4th or 5th. Jets need a bruiser with wheels to blast D's and set up the deep pass. Sanchez needs that kind of impact from his rb's to soften the D.

It seems like every year everyone always says "the combine means nothing".

Then, as soon as it rolls around, everyone lives and dies by it.

Warmack ran a 5.5

Lane Johnson ran a 4.7

Dollars to donuts says Warmack sh*ts on Johnson in the pros.

I really don't care what these guys do on turf in a pair of shorts. Show me what they do in live action during an actual game that matters with full pads on.

There's a reason that the combine is regarded as the "underwear olympics".

Geno Smith ran a 4.5

Yet, he's hesitant as hell to even leave the pocket.

Seems like franklin really had a great performance.

No mention of ray graham though, who I think is a solid late round pick.

Franklin, Davis or Lattimore in 4th or 5th
If Tiki was taught how to hold onto ball Knile can be too
I know injuries are scary but day 3 pick for them is worth it to me

Jonathan Franklin is my fav RB in this draft . from what i seen throughout this season and now his very good Combine im sold.

im praying the jets draft him at some point..

my other sleep is Cierre Wood who had a much better season last year than this year due to sharing carrys..

Lattimore in the later rds could pay off more next year than this year..

taylor 4.76 40 is enough for me to back off.

Top-end speed doesn't really matter for guards. They need strength, quick reflexes, and agility, not great high-end speed.

I'd say Smith running a 4.5 should definitely raise his stock. While he really tried to stay in the pocket all the time at West Virginia to prove he was a traditional pocket passer, he doesn't have to play that exact same way in the pros. He can be taught to use that mobility and the speed is impressive. QBs who have run fast 40 times, you can see the difference in the pros. They are more dangerous with their feet and more capable of picking up big yards on the ground.

I love Lattimore. His injury reminds me of Mcgahee, when he was a monster after concerns.. Lattimore is first round talent. I'd take him if he is there in the 2nd. Good kid too.

I'd be shocked if Latimore is there in the 3rd, despite his injury.

Except that Mcgahee didn't have the other knee blow out a season before his most recent blown knee
