Funny though, every time I hear it again...I hear another older Stones song in it.

I think they carefully canibalized 8 of their own tunes.

I guess if it doesnt jump out at you the first time, I guess they pulled it off brilliantly.

It does sound very much like a parody.........of The Rolling Stones themselves. If some of the better bands who have aped the Stones over the years, Primal Scream (for one album) for example or the Black Crowes or Aerosmith (for much of their careers) came up with it they'd be accused of outright plagiarism.

I guess the Stones are allowed to copy themselves - especially given the track rocks - and less face it this "vintage" feel is a whole lot better than the washed out bar-blues sound they've been peddling for the best part of 3 decades now with their original material.

I don't think you'll find a song by anybody that sounds more like the Stones than this.

Wow, you're right. Talk about joining the dots Stones parody.

Is that Steven Van Zandt? Looks very much like him.

It is. Well spotted. The whole tune sounds like the Stones but the lead guitar especially is almost dead on Keith Richards. Parody or not, it's actually a great song.

Dire Straits when they started out but loved after they went poppier
Industrial Disease, Twisting By The Pool

(although the fake Traveling Wilburys, the Notting Hillbillies were too obvious)

I bought their CD; on SNL Knopfler caught serious fire with that claw-picking - whatever it is - I was dozing during their 2nd number, and BAM - suddenly I was wide wake.

Agreed. While they weren't completely without talent, Guns N Roses was pretty much a Zeppelin knockoff band, what Downton Abbey is to Upstairs Downstairs.

TBH, probably a tad harsh in my summation - Slash definitely had/has talent, do like some of the stuff he's done, especially that solo he did with Iggy Pop on the song Home. One of the other players was OK and came up with some OK tunes, but Axl Rose is about as bad as it gets.
