Rex will be fired after next season. There's not enough talent on this team to compete (even if we have a quality draft). And I believe Rex had a ton of say into who we've drafted the past four years, so he made his bed and can lie in it.

Maybe...but only because of how the roster looks right now. A lot can change between now and September to make this an 8 or 9 win team.

We probably shouldn't bother playing the games, amiright?

Jets on paper are a 5-11 team.

Patriots on paper should win the SB.

If we play the games it'll just mean the Jets could win 6 games, and the Pats could choke in the post-season ... again.

The problem with that statement is how many top 10 offenses will they be playing this year, besides the requisite 2 Pats games.

Don't choke on your words; your great teams of the past all had over-achievers and "prove-it" types; utility players; all throughout those teams. Now, add in that Rex followed that particular script to achieve the unthinkable: a solid road playoff win in your hollowed building (pun emphasis is mine ).

Double-speak is a bannable offense. Problem is I am a defensive coordinator, so I don't know what to do.

Rex is a complete buffoon and PT Barnum type....decent defensive coach.....terrible head coach....so far.

We dont need his antics when we will be rebuilding for the next 3 years....again

Ummm.....the chowd is completely realistic and accurate. This team is in total rebuilding mode, Revis for picks and NOT be big players in FA is the way they are gonna go. We will be lucky to get 5 wins......yes in March I'm saying that with certainty.

Cam Newton, Drew Brees and Matt Ryan will all be playing the Jets next season.

Agree 1000%.

This fan base is pathetic. I've seen the worst of it since the end of the season, I've never seen it this bad before. Like we're the only team that has had a bad season (where the team was STILL in playoff contention late in the season). Geez, I know it's been 44 years since a title but come on. Some people want to get rid of a good head coach and a great CB.

I really think most of it is the success the Patsies have had. Bellichick was supposed to be our coach but leaves for NE and hits the lottery (w/o Brady, Bellichick is Kotite 2.0). As a fan base, we seriously need to stop worrying about NE and only worry about our team. If being a Jet fan is so terrible, then go root for someone else. The rest of us loyal real fans are tired of the whining. Go be emo somewhere else.

None of you SOJF nostrildamuses "know" what's to be and when

Cleveland paid the DC BB to be a HC and he flopped
Jets paid the DC BB to be a HC and he took the money and ran
NE paid the DC BB to be a HC and was failing misreably until Brady's miracle .. which NO ONE predicted

Congratulations... you, personally, have figured it all out. The true historian who gets it. The next time you write a post that doesn't involve a condemnation of your fellow fans with the tired term "SOJF" will be the first.

Pipe down, puke. You're not a fellow fan AFAIK. More like a troll.

Does any Jet fan feel comfortable facing Cam next season? Do they feel comfortable slowing down a QB with the size of a TE?

This. I tired of hearing he can't run an O. He isn't here to run the damn O he is here to be the HC. Give him a legit OC and he is a pretty good coach.

You mean like Tebow? The Pathers are an elite team at 7-9 with an elite QB with an 80 QBR. Comfortable no, trembling is the word.

Are you comparing Cam to Tebow? The Jets face a very tough NFC South next season. All four teams are QB-driven. Do you want Sanchez in charge of this campaign?

This. He's an elite DC, and in order to keep an elite DC you need to make him a head coach. He needs to learn through experience how to be more well rounded, and the Jets learned the hard way that he needs someone to run the personnel side of things. He's been saddled with the worst OCs, and QBs in the league, and still has one of the best winning percentages. If he had that much control in personnel then who's fault is that? How is he going to learn more about the offensive side when the OCs he's learning from are Shotty, and Shady? How quickly people forget the coaches that have come through here. These name people throw around here that they want for a head coach, are just names. They love them because they are not here. They would learn to hate them once they lose a couple games. Every one of these genius head coaches out there coincidentally had great GMs, DCs, and/or great QBs. These well rounded SB winning head coaches don't grow on trees, and we could do a lot worse.

Rex performed a near miracle squeezing out six wins with this team of nobodies and missing its top offensive and defensive players. Compare to KC who have something like a half dozen pro-bowlers and a QB that got 11 wins with the Pats. Who only managed 2 wins. If the GM/owner are going to insist on hiring rookie coaches they have to give them a chance to learn on the job.
