Jets can Rebuild Thorough Free Agency?

With the disappointment of last season still lingering, we all know we need to make a drastic change in the organization. While Woody Johnson and Rex Ryan aren't going anywhere in the near future we can build up our roster through free agency. Revis could potentially be gone next season and Charles Woodson could be a good replacement for him. Landry may have seen his last days as a Jet but I would reach out to Ed Reed to bring in some veteran leadership to the secondary. Free agency is swarming with lineman on both sides of the ball. Casey Hampton or Glenn Dorsey can help clog up the holes in the middle and tackles Jake Long or Ryan Clady can protect the quarterbacks blindside for years to come. Speaking of quarterbacks Matt Moore can compete with Sanchez for the starting spot and I would look into Brady Quinn in Kansas City as well. Just a few suggestions so we don't see a repeat of last year.

Gut this roster first(as it began yesterday) see what we got left in homegrown talent...then fill a position or two when absolutely needed...And the premise of building a team w free agents is really bound for an epic fail to be truthful...

Successful teams in the NFL build through the draft and fills holes through FA.

Unsuccessful teams do it the other way around.

Dumb teams build through free agency

Idzik has already stated that the draft will be paramount under his watch.

YOU CANNOT WIN A SB BY BUYING YOUR TEAM. END THREAD.

Sorry for all the caps, but this thread is thoughtless.

The best quote of the entire Idzik press conference was "every draft pick will be precious to us"

Thank God he doesnt read JI.

Half the fans here think that picks after round 2 are A "crap shoot".

Every pick does matter.

Pats took a flyer on him with a 7th round pick and he played extremely well last year.

Might be tough repeating that performance from a prison cell:

Alfonzo Dennard facing prison after assault conviction
By Dan Hanzus

Published: Feb. 20, 2013 at 12:23 p.m.

New England Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard is facing up to six years in prison after being found guilty of assaulting a police officer, a felony, and resisting arrest, according to the Lincoln Journal Star.

A former Nebraska star, Dennard had been charged with third-degree assault of an officer, resisting arrest, and third-degree assault of a 22-year-old man following an incident on April 21. He was found not guilty on the charges involving the 22-year-old man. Dennard will be sentenced on April 11.

The week-long trial ended Wednesday, a day after a jury of four men and eight women failed to reach a verdict after six hours of deliberation. The jury sided with prosecution, which contended that Dennard punched a police officer outside a Lincoln bar.

The incident came just days before the 2012 NFL Draft, causing Dennard to free-fall down boards. The Patriots took a chance on Dennard in the seventh round and he was an impact player in his rookie season, making seven starts and finishing with three interceptions.

Dennard had been in line to start for the Patriots at right cornerback in 2013, though Wednesday's guilty verdict could force a change in plans. With Dennard facing prison time, the Patriots might be more inclined to bring back Aqib Talib, a pending free agent.

OP is way off base. Trying to buy the SB winning roster in Rex's first two years through FA is exactly what got the team in the hole it is today.

They're not a crap shoot if you have a functioning scout department.

When some of us were younger the draft was 15 rounds and 7th round picks were consider good picks that should make the team.

Like you said, all the picks count today.
