This Day in Music

Fancy a daily music happening?

How about this, an amazing day's work.

22nd Feb 1967, The Beatles were working at Abbey Road, London, recording the giant piano chord for the end of 'A Day In The Life' for their Sgt. Pepper's album.

See Paul talking about it here: http://www.thisdayinmusic.com/pages/sgt_pepper

Most impressive thing I remember from that ere (I was a we baby) was a comment that one of the Beach Boys made. They released an album that same year and were certain they would win a ton of awards and be recognized.

One was quoted as saying we then heard Sgt peppers and felt like losers.

The Beatles were just incredible creators of music.

24th Feb 1975, Led Zeppelin released their sixth album Physical Graffiti in the UK. Recording sessions had been disrupted when bassist and keyboard player John Paul Jones had proposed quitting the band, supposedly to become choirmaster at Winchester Cathedral, England, although in reality he just needed time to rest after Zeppelin's demanding tour schedule. http://www.thisdayinmusic.com/pages/physical_graffiti

Sorry.

I live with 2 Beatles fanatics. I just don't get it.

George Harrison had to have Clapton solo for him. Cause he sucks.

There's a difference between not getting them and calling them the backstreet boys though.
