The New York Jets have waived CB Marquice Cole. The announcement was made by Jets General Manager Mike Tannenbaum. Cole was waived to make room for the reinstatement of Shaun Ellis, who returns after serving his one-game suspension.

Cole (CB, 5-10, 190, Northwestern signed with the Jets as a free agent on Feb. 19, 2009. He made the 53-man roster and was inactive for the game at Houston. Cole was originally signed by the Oakland Raiders as a rookie free agent on May 4, 2007, and was waived on Sept. 1, 2007. He spent time on the practice squads of the Titans and Saints.
