As the Jets enter Sunday’s matchup with the Bills (6-7) it turns out that not only their spirits have been battered. Linebacker Eric Barton (knee), nose tackle Kris Jenkins (hip) and linebacker Bryan Thomas (shoulder) all were limited in practice today due to injury. Wide receiver Brad Smith, who suffered a head injury during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s loss to the 49ers, did not practice. If Smith is unable to play Sunday, David Clowney will likely make his season debut. Clowney led all Jets’ receivers with eight receptions and 222 receiving yards during the preseason, but he injured his shoulder and has yet to play.

For the Bills, quarterback Trent Edwards (groin) did not practice. If Edwards is unable to play, J.P. Losman will make his second consecutive start. In last week’s 16-3 loss to the Dolphins, Losman completed 13-of-27 passes for 123 yards and one interception.
