NEW YORK, NY – It’s safe to say Dee Milliner has some big shoes to fill.

Top pick Alabama CB Dee Milliner will have some big shoes to fill with the departure of Darrelle Revis.

Four days after new general manager John Idzik traded All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the New York Jets selected Alabama DB Dee Milliner with the ninth overall selection in Thursday’s NFL Draft.

Many thought the Jets would target a pass rusher like LSU OLB Barkevious Mingo or an offensive weapon like West Virginia WR Tavon Austin but both were snatched up before the Jets got their chance.

In somewhat of a twist, Milliner, who many considered to be the best cornerback in the draft, slipped to the Jets and will immediately be plugged in as the heir apparent to Revis who was traded for this year’s 13th overall pick.

Milliner who has had some medical issues, including five surgeries, still thinks he can make Jets fans forget about their former best player.

“I know I can,” he said to Deion Sanders after being picked. We’ll see.
