Start spreading the news.  Darrelle Revis is back.

Multiple sources are reporting late Sunday night that the All-Pro cornerback and the New York Jets have agreed in principal on a new long-term contract.  The agreement between the two sides ends Revis’ 35-day holdout and nearly seven month impasse in contract negotiations.

The news of Revis’ agreement comes shortly after multiple media outlets reported that Jets head coach Rex Ryan flew down to meet with Revis at the cornerback’s home in South Florida over the weekend.

Revis is expected to arrive at the team’s practice facility in Florham Park, New Jersey tomorrow where he will sign the richest contract in Jets franchise history.

Shortly after news broke of his impending agreement Sunday night, Darrelle Revis spoke out on his official Twitter account.  “To my family, said Revis.  “Neil and John, I love you guys. I’m coming home baby!  Revis Island…Let’s  Go!”

Revis also offered this apology to Jet fans: “It not has only been hard on you guys, but it has for me too. I just want to tell y’all that I’m sorry for this process and I can’t wait to get back on the field.”

The Jets open up their regular season schedule a week from today, against the Baltimore Ravens.
