This season has been a complete disaster. Through and through. There’s been very little to talk about positively. Mekhi Becton has been great, Quinnen Williams has been playing very well. George Fant has been a pleasant surprise and John Franklin-Myers and Bryce Huff look like they can be key contributors going forward.

Last week we finally got a little glimpse at Denzel Mims. Covered almost exclusively by one of the best corners in football, Mims had four catches for 42 yards in the first half. Mims was shutout in the second half, but that’ll happen when the offense can only muster four positive yards in a half. Yet Mims finished the day as the team’s leading receiver. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to give fans a little bit of hope for the future.

Joe Douglas hasn’t had enough time to make his imprint felt on this roster, but we are starting to see more and more from this draft class. On Sunday we should get to see another member of this year’s class make their debut. Jabari Zuniga has officially been activated off of IR and is eligible to make his Jets debut. He still might be inactive on Sunday, the coaching staff hasn’t announced a decision yet, but if he doesn’t play this week you can expect to see him against the Patriots next week.

Franklin-Myers and Bryce Huff have both flashed as a pass rusher, as has Tarell Basham, and fans should be excited for their future. None of them are likely to be the answer as a pass rusher but they could absolutely be part of the answer. They just need at least one more piece to go with them, can Zuniga be that piece?
