In Brief. Founded in 1999, JetsInsider.com is one of the longest-running independent publications dedicated exclusively to the New York Jets. Our credentialed editorial team provides year-round coverage of the organization, including breaking news, game analysis, roster moves, training camp, the NFL Draft, and exclusive reporting from team facilities and MetLife Stadium.

Our story

• 1999 — Sean M. Deegan launches JetsInsider from his home computer, building the first version in Microsoft Publisher and pairing it with a free message board. It becomes one of the first independent websites dedicated exclusively to the New York Jets.
• Early 2000s — The Landing Strip forum grows into one of the busiest sports message boards online, regularly clearing 1,000 posts a day and becoming a primary gathering place for Jets fans.
• Credentialed coverage — JetsInsider earns official media credentials from the Jets and the NFL, providing direct access to coaches, players, and organizational events.
• 2019 — After twenty years at the helm, Deegan sells the site to Chris Nimbley, a JetsInsider writer and editor who becomes owner and publisher.
• Today — Coverage spans every stage of the NFL calendar, from free agency and the draft to training camp, the regular season, and postseason analysis.

Before social media, smartphones, and instant notifications, a massive void existed in how New York Jets fans consumed team news. At the time, national outlets treated the team as an afterthought, while local newspapers only printed what fit on the back page.

So in 1999, we launched JetsInsider.com to bridge that gap. We started as a gritty, fan-first forum where die-hards could analyze roster cuts and debate draft capital in real time. As our community exploded, our operations evolved. Eventually, we transitioned from an underground fan hub into a fully recognized, credentialed media powerhouse covering training camps in Florham Park, draft rooms, and every single home game at MetLife Stadium.

What separates JetsInsider.com from the endless sea of sports blogs? We are in the room.

Our team holds official NFL media credentials, granting us direct access to coaches, players, and front-office personnel. However, while we respect the process, we do not work for the team. We work for you. As a result, our film room reviews are unapologetically honest, our salary cap breakdowns are realistic, and our editorial columns are never sanitized for corporate public relations. Above all, when the team excels we break down the schematic brilliance, and when they stumble we call out the institutional flaws.

Editorial independence

JetsInsider.com is independently owned and is not affiliated with, funded by, or controlled by the New York Jets or the National Football League. Holding media credentials does not make us part of the organization we cover. No advertiser, sponsor, or affiliate partner has any influence over editorial content, and no coverage decision is ever made in exchange for access.

Source attribution

When we report something first-hand, we say so. When we build on someone else’s reporting, we name the outlet and link to it. Single-sourced reports are labeled as unconfirmed until a second source stands them up, and we distinguish plainly between what is confirmed, what is reported, and what is our own analysis.

Fact checking

Every score, statistic, contract figure and injury designation we publish is verified against a primary source — the official NFL injury report, the team’s own releases, or the league’s published statistics — before it goes live. Rosters change constantly, so a player’s current team is confirmed before he is named.

Corrections

We correct errors of fact promptly and visibly. A correction is noted on the article itself rather than made silently, so readers can see what changed. If you spot something wrong, send it to us and we will check it.

Updates

Injury status, roster moves and depth charts change by the day. Pages that carry live data are dated so you can see when they were last refreshed, and developing stories are updated in place rather than replaced.

Use of AI

Some of our routine coverage — game previews, recaps and news summaries — is drafted with AI assistance under human editorial direction. Every such article is produced against the same standards as the rest of the site: facts verified against primary sources, outside reporting attributed and linked, and nothing published without human oversight. We do not use AI to fabricate quotes, invent sources, or manufacture reporting we did not do. Opinion, film analysis and original reporting remain human work.

• Sean M. Deegan — Founder. Launched JetsInsider.com in the summer of 1999 and ran it for twenty years before selling to Chris Nimbley in 2019. A graduate of SUNY Fredonia.
• Bruce T. Dugan — Webmaster and contributor. Serial entrepreneur and CEO of Inicia Incorporated, a holding company of technology and marketing agencies. His JetsInsider articles.
