2022 Free Agency Preview: Safety Edition

With the new league year starting today, NFL Free Agency is about to begin. The Jets are well positioned to be one of the major spenders in free agency, as they have a young roster filled with holes that need to be quickly improved on. Out of their positional needs, one could argue that safety…

The Battle for Left Tackle Will Define the OL for 2022 and Beyond

Who will win the battle? Will it be the first-round pick from just two years ago (Joe Douglas’ first ever draft pick), recovering from a fractured kneecap? Or the journeyman vet who just had the best year of his career and is entering a contract year? How the Jets decisions makers feel about these players…

Jets Offensive Line Must Build Off of Their 2021 Success

In looking at both the past season and upcoming 2022 season, a main talking point for the Jets is their offensive line. This past season the unit dealt with multiple injuries and absences of varying lengths. Mekhi Becton hurt his knee in Week 1 of the season, leaving a void that had to be filled…

How Elijah Moore and the Jets Plan To Adjust and Improve Next Season

With the 2021-2022 season behind them, the Jets face a crucial offseason. They’ll have around $53-54 million in cap space (before any cap-clearance moves), as Spotrac has the number at $53,654,414 and OvertheCap.com has the number at $54,365,469. Then there’s the surplus of draft picks at their disposal. Two first, second, and fourth-round picks giving…

Braxton Berrios Is Proving His Worth for This Season and Beyond

In a closer-than expected game, the Jets narrowly lost this Sunday to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by a score of 28-24. Jets Second-Half Struggles Show Offense Needs to Add More Talent

The Jets dropped another game this past Sunday, losing to the Miami Dolphins by a score of 31-24. The team’s rushing defense collapsed once again, allowing practice-squad call-up Duke Johnson to run for over 100 yards. It was also the sixth time in the past eight games that the Jets defense allowed 30 points or…

Michael Carter’s Return Should Make Life Easier For Zach Wilson and Jets Offense

To call this past Sunday a struggle for the Jets would be a complete understatement. Losing 30-9 to the Taysom Hill led Saints, almost nothing went right on either side ball for the entire game. Hill and Alvin Kamara ran all over the Jets defense, as both players averaged over four yards-per-carry. Kamara ran for…

Zach Wilson, Jets Offensive Improvement In Progress

In their 33-18 loss to the Eagles, the Jets dealt with a plethora of issues. Most of those issues came from the defensive side of the ball, as the team got gashed in the running game once again. The Eagles ran for over 150 yards, with 120 yards coming from Miles Sanders alone. Backup quarterback…

GASE HINTS AT CHANGES TO THE OL. At 0-3 on the sea GASE HINTS AT CHANGES TO THE OL. At 0-3 on the season, nothing has gone right for the Jets this year. Losing their starting quarterback to mono has grabbed most of the attention but even when Sam Darnold returns there will still be a glaring problem making his life harder. That problem is this offensive line has been a disaster. On defense the Jets have some issues at cornerback and obviously miss the presence of C.J. Mosley, but the defense has mostly help up. Losing Quincy Enunwa and dealing with Chris Herndon’s suspension (he will be available to return after the Eagles game) has left the backup quarterbacks with Robby Anderson, Jamison Crowder and Braxton Berrios as the receiving options. But by far the biggest problem has been the play of the offensive line. Read more of Chris Nimbley’s article on www.jetsinsider.com Photo by @manishgosalia #nyjets #newyorkjets
