Reports: Jets Going Hard For Hightower

There’s nothing more the rebuilding Jets would like to do than to sign a premier linebacker to bolster their depleted defense. To get him from a heated rival would be gravy. This is the current situation with the Jets and Patriots FA LB Dont’a Hightower. Hightower was in Florham Park on Monday and reportedly had…

Browns Reportedly Interested In Geno Smith

I know most Jets fans will be happy to never see Geno Smith in a Jets uniform ever again and those same fans have little to no interest of ever hearing/reading his name again. But we should all be curious about what’s next for Smith. Most fans wrote Smith off years ago, they’re convinced he…

Draft Needs And Value Match Up Well For Jets

Every year as the draft approaches the classic debate emerges, should you draft the best player available or draft for need. Jets GM Mike Maccagnan is a proponent of the best player available strategy – also the correct strategy – and he should be even more so this year. With the Jets having so many…

Jets QB Options: Not Good

FLORHAM PARK, NJ – The Jets are in all out rebuild mode leaving many to question why the Jets would be interested in any big name free agents, clearly the Jets know 2017 won’t a successful season but they still want to avoid having a historically embarrassing season.  The Jets interest in Dont’a Hightower is…

Jets’ Newest Additions

FLORHAM PARK, NJ – Out with the old, in with, well, a few guys. The Jets purged their roster, getting rid of Darrelle Revis, Nick Mangold, Brandon Marshall, Nick Folk, Breno Giacomini, Erin Henderson, Ryan Clady and this time they won’t be re-signing Ryan Fitzpatrick. These moves were necessary not just to clear up cap…

Destroy And Rebuild

FLORHAM PARK, NJ – General manager Mike Maccagnan took my advice (okay, not really but he at least agreed with the advice I gave him that he never actually saw/heard) and has decided to burn everything down and start what will/should be a slow, methodical rebuild. In other words, he’s going to attempt to perform…

GASE HINTS AT CHANGES TO THE OL. At 0-3 on the sea GASE HINTS AT CHANGES TO THE OL. At 0-3 on the season, nothing has gone right for the Jets this year. Losing their starting quarterback to mono has grabbed most of the attention but even when Sam Darnold returns there will still be a glaring problem making his life harder. That problem is this offensive line has been a disaster. On defense the Jets have some issues at cornerback and obviously miss the presence of C.J. Mosley, but the defense has mostly help up. Losing Quincy Enunwa and dealing with Chris Herndon’s suspension (he will be available to return after the Eagles game) has left the backup quarterbacks with Robby Anderson, Jamison Crowder and Braxton Berrios as the receiving options. But by far the biggest problem has been the play of the offensive line. Read more of Chris Nimbley’s article on www.jetsinsider.com Photo by @manishgosalia #nyjets #newyorkjets
