Background and Path to the Jets
Sherwood is the holdover at the center of the Jets’ linebacker group. The club reported his 308 tackles across the 2024 and 2025 seasons ranked second in the NFL over that period.
For 2026 he is paired with veteran Demario Davis, who signed in March and led the New Orleans Saints in tackles for eight consecutive seasons. The room also carries Marcelino McCrary-Ball, Kiko Mauigoa and Trevin Wallace.
The Jets built their front around pressure from the edge and size inside, with the linebackers working behind it. Weekly production is tracked on the Jets team stats page, and his work in the season opener features in our Week 1 recap.
