Blowout Loss to Patriots Showed How Far Jets Still Have to Go

It would be foolish to describe the Jets loss to the Patriots in Week 7 as anything other than an unmitigated disaster. Losing 54-13, the team had a performance reminiscent of the abysmal Adam Gase era. The team mustered a total of 251 yards in the passing game while their leading rusher only managed 37…

The best head coaching candidate that you’ve never heard of

Well, Adam Gase has finally been banished to the shadowy void from whence he came. As the Jets look to turn the page on what was perhaps the worst era in this history of Jets football, it’s worth asking: “how did that even happen?” and perhaps more importantly: “how do we make sure it never…

Jets brutalized by the Adams Family, 40-3

You already know who won this game. You knew who was going to win this game before the opening kickoff. What you maybe didn’t know is that it would happen in such embarrassing and one sided fashion. Let’s get into it.  The Jets moved the ball well on their first drive, but then like a…

First win of the season not in the Cards; Jets dealt a fifth straight loss

Hoo boy.  So if you’ve been paying attention, the Jets are bad. Very bad, some might say. And when you’re a bad team in the NFL, you need some lucky breaks to pull off wins. You might hope to catch a team traveling several times zones across the country. You might hope to capitalize on…

Let’s Overreact to Week 1

It’s Week 1 in the NFL, baby. That means it’s time to overreact to a sample size consisting of 1 (one) game. Some fans will rejoice, some will be filled with hope, but in the wake of the Jets’ slaughter at the hands of the Buffalo Bills, these overreactions aren’t going to be particularly happy…

Well, That Was Weird

Football is back and it feels weird. All of it feels weird. Face scans, temperature checks, reporters, all in masks, standing socially distanced on the sidelines. Weirdest of all? I had to put on a belt for the first time in six months. Everything felt weird except for the only thing that really matters, the…

Getting to Know Joe Douglas the GM

Covering a first-time GM is always tricky, there’s a lot of guesswork and assumption making. ‘Well, the team has these holes so let’s connect all the available free agents at those positions to them.’ Or, ‘well this team is really bad so they’re going to need to spend money.’ But it’s not until said GM…

GASE HINTS AT CHANGES TO THE OL. At 0-3 on the sea GASE HINTS AT CHANGES TO THE OL. At 0-3 on the season, nothing has gone right for the Jets this year. Losing their starting quarterback to mono has grabbed most of the attention but even when Sam Darnold returns there will still be a glaring problem making his life harder. That problem is this offensive line has been a disaster. On defense the Jets have some issues at cornerback and obviously miss the presence of C.J. Mosley, but the defense has mostly help up. Losing Quincy Enunwa and dealing with Chris Herndon’s suspension (he will be available to return after the Eagles game) has left the backup quarterbacks with Robby Anderson, Jamison Crowder and Braxton Berrios as the receiving options. But by far the biggest problem has been the play of the offensive line. Read more of Chris Nimbley’s article on www.jetsinsider.com Photo by @manishgosalia #nyjets #newyorkjets
