Victory Monday #2: Game balls

After a weird and crazy 23-20 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars the New York Jets are 2-2. That’s two wins, two wins more than those that predicted the Jets would go 0-16 thought the Jets would get and we’re only a quarter of the way through the season. Even weirder, the Jets are currently tied…

At least there’s a few bright spots for the future

The Jets got molly wopped by the Raiders yesterday, we all knew that was the most likely scenario, and if you’re looking for positive spin about this season then, sorry I can’t help you there. But what I can do is give you some positive spin for the future. Whether you’re team tank or anti-tank…

First game went about as expected

The New York Jets played – and lost – their first game of the season yesterday and it went pretty much like most expected it would. The Jets offense failed to show anything that would get fans excited or scare future opponents, the defense played well at times but not nearly well enough to give…

Three observation: Day 13

Florham Park, NJ – We are more than halfway through training camp and now I bring you good news. News that all Jets fans have been waiting. Forgive me when I eventually rain on this parade and try to temper your excitement, but even as I do that know that there does seem to be actually…

RB Romar Morris Ready for Competition

Romar Morris stands a few feet behind Josh McCown. He knows the ball will be handed off to him and will only have a few seconds to figure out how to get by the defensive line. He could run left towards Sheldon Richardson, or run to the right in the direction of Muhammad Wilkerson, or take the ball…

Three Observations: Training Camp Day 1

Florham Park, NJ-July 29th marked the beginning of a five-month journey as the New York Jets opened training camp. There were some familiar faces (Muhammad Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson, Quincy Enunwa) as well as some new faces (Lucky Whitehead, Marcus Maye, Jamal Adams). All 90 players on the roster came together with one goal in mind:…

First Round NFL Draft Blunders, Late Round Success

“With the sixth pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select…” At that point, every Jets fan will be sitting on the edge of their seat, waiting to hear Roger Goodell announce the name of the guy who will be the Jets’ first pick of 2017, the name that could very well…

Ex-Stony Brook star Miguel Maysonet comes home

FLORHAM PARK, NJ – Miguel Maysonet walks out to the field house after his second day of Jets practice wearing Air Jordan sandals, a bright red Stony Brook football hoodie and a million-watt smile. Exactly a year ago, the star running back was preparing for the Gardner-Webb University Bulldogs – an opponent he bulldozed for…

GASE HINTS AT CHANGES TO THE OL. At 0-3 on the sea GASE HINTS AT CHANGES TO THE OL. At 0-3 on the season, nothing has gone right for the Jets this year. Losing their starting quarterback to mono has grabbed most of the attention but even when Sam Darnold returns there will still be a glaring problem making his life harder. That problem is this offensive line has been a disaster. On defense the Jets have some issues at cornerback and obviously miss the presence of C.J. Mosley, but the defense has mostly help up. Losing Quincy Enunwa and dealing with Chris Herndon’s suspension (he will be available to return after the Eagles game) has left the backup quarterbacks with Robby Anderson, Jamison Crowder and Braxton Berrios as the receiving options. But by far the biggest problem has been the play of the offensive line. Read more of Chris Nimbley’s article on www.jetsinsider.com Photo by @manishgosalia #nyjets #newyorkjets
