Rontez’ leadership goes Miles for young secondary

Florham Park, NJ – The longest tenured member of the New York Jets secondary could be heard from the parking lot of One Jets Drive during training camp. He could be heard barking jokes with a distinguishable laugh while creating nicknames that sometimes make you question the context behind them. Most noticeably, Rontez Miles can always be seen…

WATCH: Back in the Big Apple: Davis excited for the opportunity

FLORHAM PARK, NJ – When he was drafted in the third round of the 2012 draft, Demario Davis was compared to NFL phenom, Ray Lewis, in terms of his leadership capability. Report: Decker Next On the Chopping Block

Florham Park, NJ – Go ahead, try and argue that the Jets aren’t tanking this season. If a few months ago you had asked any…

Jets trade Calvin Pryor for Demario Davis

The Jets traded away one former draft pick with promise that was never realized for another former draft pick with promise that was never realized. If you still weren’t sure that the Jets would actually start two rookie safeties, you should certainly be sold on that now. Just days after Todd Bowles tried to assure…

Three observations: OTA’s day one

Florham Park, NJ – The football calendar has officially turned to 2017. We’re still months away from the start of the actual season but today was the first day of offseason training activities also known as OTAs. As Todd Bowles says “they’re just out there in shorts and no pads” so don’t expect any in-depth breakdowns…

Jets draft Florida’s Marcus Maye in 2nd. Yes another safety.

With their second-round pick the Jets decided to double-dip in the safety pool, as well as the SEC pool, and drafted Marcus Male from Florida. Mike Maccagnan and Todd Bowles were clearly every bit as frustrated as fans were over the constant miscommunications and easy deep-ball completions that cost them multiple games last year. The…

GASE HINTS AT CHANGES TO THE OL. At 0-3 on the sea GASE HINTS AT CHANGES TO THE OL. At 0-3 on the season, nothing has gone right for the Jets this year. Losing their starting quarterback to mono has grabbed most of the attention but even when Sam Darnold returns there will still be a glaring problem making his life harder. That problem is this offensive line has been a disaster. On defense the Jets have some issues at cornerback and obviously miss the presence of C.J. Mosley, but the defense has mostly help up. Losing Quincy Enunwa and dealing with Chris Herndon’s suspension (he will be available to return after the Eagles game) has left the backup quarterbacks with Robby Anderson, Jamison Crowder and Braxton Berrios as the receiving options. But by far the biggest problem has been the play of the offensive line. Read more of Chris Nimbley’s article on www.jetsinsider.com Photo by @manishgosalia #nyjets #newyorkjets
