Jets Second-Half Struggles Show Offense Needs to Add More Talent

The Jets dropped another game this past Sunday, losing to the Miami Dolphins by a score of 31-24. The team’s rushing defense collapsed once again, allowing practice-squad call-up Duke Johnson to run for over 100 yards. It was also the sixth time in the past eight games that the Jets defense allowed 30 points or…

Mike White’s Improbable Performance Showed the Jets Offensive Potential

What a difference a week can make. After being manhandled in every facet of the game in their 54-13 loss to New England, the Jets rebounded with a 34-31 victory against the Cincinnati Bengals. The defense played much better than the previous week, only allowing 33 yards to Joe Mixon while limiting Joe Burrow to…

Blowout Loss to Patriots Showed How Far Jets Still Have to Go

It would be foolish to describe the Jets loss to the Patriots in Week 7 as anything other than an unmitigated disaster. Losing 54-13, the team had a performance reminiscent of the abysmal Adam Gase era. The team mustered a total of 251 yards in the passing game while their leading rusher only managed 37…

Jets Need to Figure How to Jump Start On Offense

After an encouraging win against Tennessee, the New York Jets came crashing down to earth in London. While the Jets kept the game close, only losing 27-20, the team was hampered by the same inconsistencies and mistakes that have been consistent throughout their first five games. Zach Wilson played better in the second half, but…

Denzel Mims is Powering Through Adversity in Training Camp

Up to this point in camp, a popular narrative has surround one of the Jets’ 2020 draft selections. Second-year receiver, Denzel Mims, has been the subject of this scrutiny, as he spent the beginning of camp mostly running with the sec and and third-team offense. Rumors swirled about his standing on the team, with onlookers…

Jets Win Snoopy Bowl, 12-7

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – I don’t care that they don’t call it the Snoopy Bowl anymore. Do You? We’re all going to keep calling it the Snoopy Bowl until our last breaths, right? I’m assuming you die hard fans, who are determined to inflict the pain and torture of being Jets fans on your kids,…

Three Observations: Becton, Mims and a Potpourri of Quick Hits

Pardon me while I get this off my chest. Good lord, it was way too hot out today. That’s it. I’m done. Onto the Jets and we’re jumping right into today’s observations. 1) MEKHI BECTON WINNING REPS AGAINST CARL LAWSON: One of the stories of camp has been the play of Carl Lawson. But because…

Three Observations: Day 10

After a practice at MetLife Stadium, in front of 20,000 fans, the Jets returned to Florham Park and a smaller amount of fans. Today’s practice looked a lot like, well most of the practices. Zach Wilson had his good and his bad moments. Carl Lawson dominated the day, again. Corey Davis and Elijah Moore continue…

Three Observations: Day 7

Another Jets practice, another day of Carl Lawson and Elijah Moore demanding our attention and adulation. Every single day they show up and show out. Then the next day I think, ‘we get it, Moore and Lawson are dominating, but what about the rest of the team? That’s fair and correct, but dammit these guys…

Today’s Observations: Zach and Elijah Put On a Show

Anyone that said yesterday’s practice meant that Zach Wilson was a bust must now say today’s practice means he’s going to Canton. They are both equally absurd takes. But at least strive to be consistently absurd. Wilson struggled yesterday. Everything was just a touch slow and a touch late. Today he was dealing from start…

GASE HINTS AT CHANGES TO THE OL. At 0-3 on the sea GASE HINTS AT CHANGES TO THE OL. At 0-3 on the season, nothing has gone right for the Jets this year. Losing their starting quarterback to mono has grabbed most of the attention but even when Sam Darnold returns there will still be a glaring problem making his life harder. That problem is this offensive line has been a disaster. On defense the Jets have some issues at cornerback and obviously miss the presence of C.J. Mosley, but the defense has mostly help up. Losing Quincy Enunwa and dealing with Chris Herndon’s suspension (he will be available to return after the Eagles game) has left the backup quarterbacks with Robby Anderson, Jamison Crowder and Braxton Berrios as the receiving options. But by far the biggest problem has been the play of the offensive line. Read more of Chris Nimbley’s article on www.jetsinsider.com Photo by @manishgosalia #nyjets #newyorkjets
