Frankie Luvu: UDFA Gem Willing Way on to Roster

Florham Park, NJ— The Jets are going to be a solid team in 2018, with two weaknesses; offensive line, and pass rusher. This has opened the door to the lower part of the depth chart to get reps, and make their name known. A player who has taken advantage of his time on the field…

Predicting the 53-man roster

Happy preseason eve, Jets fans! With the New York Jets set to take on the Atlanta Falcons in their first preseason game of the year tomorrow night it means today is the day for predicting what the Jets 53-man roster will look like after “final” cut (final is in quotes there because even-though we call…

Three observations: Week Two OTAs

FLORHAM PARK, NJ – Week two of OTAs kicked off yesterday and as Todd Bowles is constant reminding us, “they’re just in shorts and t-shirts” so there’s only so much we can takeaway from what we’ve seen. But you don’t care about that, you want updates so let’s get right to the updates. QBs – The quarterback…

Morton and Rodgers Review: Week 14

Florham Park, NJ – Last week’s 23-0 performance for the New York Jets was disappointing. In addition to losing their starting quarterback Josh McCown, the Jets couldn’t score a single point against the Denver Broncos. Offense, however, wasn’t the only aspect they struggled in. The Jets’ defense couldn’t beat the Broncos in the one defensive area…

Morton and Rodgers Report Card: Week 12

Florham Park, NJ – Behind head coach Todd Bowles is offensive coordinator John Morton and defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers. The coordinators don’t receive much attention, but they’re vital to putting together an offensive and defensive game plan against upcoming opponents. We look back at last Sunday’s matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs and grade Morton and…

Jets’ Late Comeback Falls Short Against Panthers, 35-27

East Rutherford, NJ – The New York Jets can’t turn their luck around as they lost to the Carolina Panthers, 35-27. This loss is their sixth out of the last seven games. The Jets played well all around in the first quarter. They limited the Panthers to 69 total yards in the first, holding Cam Newton…

Jets D Stepping Up at Right Time

Florham Park, NJ – The New York Jets defense is starting to play like fans expected them to all season. If the defense came up in conversation, most praise was reserved for the rookie safety duo of Marcus Maye and Jamal Adams. They deserve it, too. Adams and Maye have been vocal leaders on the field…

Jordan Jenkins named AFC defensive player of the week

The Jets defense dominated the Buffalo Bills last week – sacking Tyrod Taylor seven times, hitting him 11 times and recovering three fumbles – on their way to a 34-21 victory. Demario Davis, Darron Lee, Muhammad Wilkerson, Jamal Adams, Marcus Maye and others all contributed to the domination, but it was Jordan Jenkins who claimed…

At least there’s a few bright spots for the future

The Jets got molly wopped by the Raiders yesterday, we all knew that was the most likely scenario, and if you’re looking for positive spin about this season then, sorry I can’t help you there. But what I can do is give you some positive spin for the future. Whether you’re team tank or anti-tank…

LB Jordan Jenkins Having Fun with Linebacker Competition

The quarterback position on the New York Jets isn’t the only position with competition. Outside linebacker is also up for grabs, as made official by head coach Todd Bowles. “It rotates a lot more because we have a lot more people to see. Inside backer, we kinda know everybody, except for two. Outside linebackers, the…

GASE HINTS AT CHANGES TO THE OL. At 0-3 on the sea GASE HINTS AT CHANGES TO THE OL. At 0-3 on the season, nothing has gone right for the Jets this year. Losing their starting quarterback to mono has grabbed most of the attention but even when Sam Darnold returns there will still be a glaring problem making his life harder. That problem is this offensive line has been a disaster. On defense the Jets have some issues at cornerback and obviously miss the presence of C.J. Mosley, but the defense has mostly help up. Losing Quincy Enunwa and dealing with Chris Herndon’s suspension (he will be available to return after the Eagles game) has left the backup quarterbacks with Robby Anderson, Jamison Crowder and Braxton Berrios as the receiving options. But by far the biggest problem has been the play of the offensive line. Read more of Chris Nimbley’s article on www.jetsinsider.com Photo by @manishgosalia #nyjets #newyorkjets
