Second Half Stinker: Jets Lose 18-10

Well the first half was pretty exciting, right? With Dowell Loggains calling the plays the offense didn’t feel nearly as predictable. Sure, we still saw ill-timed screens and a run on second-and-long, but far less than usual. We saw bootlegs and play-action, even some misdirection. Denzel Mims making plays, catches and blocks and fellow rookie,…

Le’Veon Bell Freed From Jets Dumpster Fire

A year-and-a-half ago, Le’Veon Bell was the big free agent acquisition for the Jets. But it was a doomed marriage before the contract was even signed. It was doomed by the fact that he was signing to a team with Adam Gase as the coach. Be happy for Bell. He deserved to be let free….

Another Game, Another Embarrassment

The Jets lost another game to fall to 0-5. That’s not just 0-5 straight up, that’s 0-5 against the spread. But wait, it gets worse. It’s not just 0-5 against the spread, it’s 0-5 with a point differential of -86. That’s 33 points worse than the Washington Football Team who have the 31st worst point…

Darnold OUT With Shoulder Injury

A season already full of doom and gloom just got gloomier. Gloomier or more gloomy? Regardless, Sam Darnold will miss at least this week’s game against the Cardinals. Joe Flacco will get the start in Darnold’s absence and Mike White will likely serve as the backup. Adam Gase wouldn’t disclose what grade strain Darnold has…

Game Preview: Jets (0-1) Vs. 49ers (0-1)

Six Months into a global pandemic and we’ve found the silver lining for Jets season-ticket holders. Covid-19 restrictions will save fans from subjecting themselves to spending their time and money to watch this team in person. Fanatics would never prioritize their sanity over watching their favorite team. But Covid-19 made this decision for you and…

Jets Place Bell, Mims and Cashman on IR

Welcome to another addition of ‘Things Can Always Get Worse.’ You didn’t really think the disaster would be contained to Sunday, did you? After looking woefully unprepared and outmatched against the Bills, the Jets have placed three players on IR. Le’Veon Bell, Denzel Mims and Blake Cashman. Bell and Mims both have hamstring injuries and…

Season Preview: This Could Get Ugly

The NFL season kicked off last night in Kansas City. The Chiefs are still a juggernaut, the rest of the league is simply trying to catch up. The Jets aren’t tanking, but this season is about building for the future far more than winning this year. The Jets currently have over $30 million in cap…

Three Observations: Fights!!

Well, we made it to the fighting portion of training camp. It’s that time of camp where players are sick of the players they line up against every practice. The difference this time is there’s no preseason games coming up to give them a break from each other. It all appeared to start with Neville…

Jets Day Three Draft Additions

The benefit of a new GM doing his first draft for a team with holes throughout the roster is said GM can stick to the best player available strategy and still fill needs. Joe Douglas may have strayed from the BPA strategy (I certainty haven’t seen his big board), but he certainly filled some needs….

Le’Veon Bell Doesn’t Want to be Held Back

Florham Park, NJ – All offseason fans and reporters have been speculating about what type of shape Le’Veon Bell is/will be in; Is he 260 lbs? Okay, so he’s nowhere near 260, but is he in football shape? Can he take a hit? Will he need to be eased into a offense? How many touches…

GASE HINTS AT CHANGES TO THE OL. At 0-3 on the sea GASE HINTS AT CHANGES TO THE OL. At 0-3 on the season, nothing has gone right for the Jets this year. Losing their starting quarterback to mono has grabbed most of the attention but even when Sam Darnold returns there will still be a glaring problem making his life harder. That problem is this offensive line has been a disaster. On defense the Jets have some issues at cornerback and obviously miss the presence of C.J. Mosley, but the defense has mostly help up. Losing Quincy Enunwa and dealing with Chris Herndon’s suspension (he will be available to return after the Eagles game) has left the backup quarterbacks with Robby Anderson, Jamison Crowder and Braxton Berrios as the receiving options. But by far the biggest problem has been the play of the offensive line. Read more of Chris Nimbley’s article on www.jetsinsider.com Photo by @manishgosalia #nyjets #newyorkjets
