How Will Jets Defense Change With Copeland Suspension?

Florham Park, NJ – Jets outside linebacker, Brandon Copeland tested positive for a banned, performance-enhancing, substance and will be suspended for the first four games of the season. With inside linebacker, Avery Williamson, already lost for the season with an ACL injury, Gregg Williams will likely have to make some tweaks to his defensive scheme. When…

Three Observations: Practice 10 (2019)

Florham Park, NJ – Today was the day of the switch. The defense got to wear the green jerseys, the offense forced to wear the white. Look good, play good they say and the defense looked so good that they won the day. Leonard Williams was held out of practice with an “irritation in his hip,”…

Three Observations: Practice Three (2019)

Florham Park, NJ – And on the third day, the Jets put the pads on. The pads came on and the hits immediately followed. The day started off with a heavy dose of running plays before they settled down into the rhythm of practice. 1) Sam threw his first interceptions of camp – The offense still won the…

Three Observations: Practice Two (2019)

Florham Park, NJ – The offense won the day on the second practice of training camp. But one specific defender made a handful of plays and announced his presence to all. The offense was able to move the ball up and down the field with relative ease for the most part as Sam Darnold continued to…

Report: Marcus Maye Out At Least Three Weeks

The New York Jets have won two in a row to get them back to a .500 record, that’s the good news. The bad news is their already injury-riddled secondary will be without starting safety Marcus Maye for at least three weeks. After the game yesterday Maye was wearing a soft case on his right…

Three Observations: Green and White Scrimmage

New Brunswick, NJ – The first J! E! T! S! chants were boisterous and hopeful out of High Point Solution Stadiums Saturday night as the boys suited up for their annual scrimmage. Mike Maccagnan’s group has Jets fans looking forward to Sunday for the first time in a couple years. With no obvious weaknesses, the Jets…

Rontez’ leadership goes Miles for young secondary

Florham Park, NJ – The longest tenured member of the New York Jets secondary could be heard from the parking lot of One Jets Drive during training camp. He could be heard barking jokes with a distinguishable laugh while creating nicknames that sometimes make you question the context behind them. Most noticeably, Rontez Miles can always be seen…

The NFL Draft: A time of hope and optimisim, even for the Jets

Stop me if you heard this before: the New York Jets are in the midst of a rebuild. Sound familiar? As you prepare for another season of vanilla football at a half-empty stadium, you do have something to look forward to as the NFL Draft approaches Thursday evening. For this day represents a time in the sport…

Position Battles Part 2: The Defense

Cortland, NY – On the defensive side of things there are decidedly less questions. That shouldn’t be a big shock for a team whose identity is largely defined by that side of the ball. The biggest question marks come in the secondary where the Jets lost Darrell Revis and safeties Eric Smith, Yeremiah Bell, and…

GASE HINTS AT CHANGES TO THE OL. At 0-3 on the sea GASE HINTS AT CHANGES TO THE OL. At 0-3 on the season, nothing has gone right for the Jets this year. Losing their starting quarterback to mono has grabbed most of the attention but even when Sam Darnold returns there will still be a glaring problem making his life harder. That problem is this offensive line has been a disaster. On defense the Jets have some issues at cornerback and obviously miss the presence of C.J. Mosley, but the defense has mostly help up. Losing Quincy Enunwa and dealing with Chris Herndon’s suspension (he will be available to return after the Eagles game) has left the backup quarterbacks with Robby Anderson, Jamison Crowder and Braxton Berrios as the receiving options. But by far the biggest problem has been the play of the offensive line. Read more of Chris Nimbley’s article on www.jetsinsider.com Photo by @manishgosalia #nyjets #newyorkjets
