Jets Second-Half Struggles Show Offense Needs to Add More Talent

The Jets dropped another game this past Sunday, losing to the Miami Dolphins by a score of 31-24. The team’s rushing defense collapsed once again, allowing practice-squad call-up Duke Johnson to run for over 100 yards. It was also the sixth time in the past eight games that the Jets defense allowed 30 points or…

Michael Carter’s Return Should Make Life Easier For Zach Wilson and Jets Offense

To call this past Sunday a struggle for the Jets would be a complete understatement. Losing 30-9 to the Taysom Hill led Saints, almost nothing went right on either side ball for the entire game. Hill and Alvin Kamara ran all over the Jets defense, as both players averaged over four yards-per-carry. Kamara ran for…

Zach Wilson, Jets Offensive Improvement In Progress

In their 33-18 loss to the Eagles, the Jets dealt with a plethora of issues. Most of those issues came from the defensive side of the ball, as the team got gashed in the running game once again. The Eagles ran for over 150 yards, with 120 yards coming from Miles Sanders alone. Backup quarterback…

John Franklin-Myers Proved His Value In Jets Latest Victory

This past weekend, the Jets notched another win by defeating the Houston Texans by a score of 21-14. Zach Wilson played the part of the game manager, only throwing for 145 yards and running for the touchdown that gave the Jets the lead in the second half. It was the running game that led the…

All Around Effort Leads Jets to 21-14 Win Over Texans

It took a total team effort to pull it off but the Jets won their third game of the season, 21-14. Zach Wilson struggled mightily in the first half as Tyrod Taylor led the Texans to an early 14-3 lead before the Jets defense shut Taylor and the Texans down. Wilson was able to settle…

Jets Need to Figure How to Jump Start On Offense

After an encouraging win against Tennessee, the New York Jets came crashing down to earth in London. While the Jets kept the game close, only losing 27-20, the team was hampered by the same inconsistencies and mistakes that have been consistent throughout their first five games. Zach Wilson played better in the second half, but…

Establishing the Run: Jets Offense Will Lean on Its Running Game

In the Jets’ 12-7 preseason victory over the Giants, the team was finally able to show off its new offensive scheme in a non-practice setting. The two drives led by Zach Wilson showed a heavy reliance on the run game, which allowed for the play-action passing game to develop down the field. Even with Wilson…

Three Observations: Day 7

Another Jets practice, another day of Carl Lawson and Elijah Moore demanding our attention and adulation. Every single day they show up and show out. Then the next day I think, ‘we get it, Moore and Lawson are dominating, but what about the rest of the team? That’s fair and correct, but dammit these guys…

The Jets select UNC running back Michael Carter with the 107th pick

With their first pick of the 4th round, the Jets selected UNC running back, Michael Carter.  My favorite description of Michael Carter came from a YouTube comment under his highlight video: “he runs like he’s skiing.” Carter is a dangerous slasher who has terrific stop and start quickness to shake tacklers in the open field…

GASE HINTS AT CHANGES TO THE OL. At 0-3 on the sea GASE HINTS AT CHANGES TO THE OL. At 0-3 on the season, nothing has gone right for the Jets this year. Losing their starting quarterback to mono has grabbed most of the attention but even when Sam Darnold returns there will still be a glaring problem making his life harder. That problem is this offensive line has been a disaster. On defense the Jets have some issues at cornerback and obviously miss the presence of C.J. Mosley, but the defense has mostly help up. Losing Quincy Enunwa and dealing with Chris Herndon’s suspension (he will be available to return after the Eagles game) has left the backup quarterbacks with Robby Anderson, Jamison Crowder and Braxton Berrios as the receiving options. But by far the biggest problem has been the play of the offensive line. Read more of Chris Nimbley’s article on www.jetsinsider.com Photo by @manishgosalia #nyjets #newyorkjets
