Florham Park, NJ – It was a hot and humid day as the Jets kicked off their 2014 minicamp, the players made sure they were well hydrated as they drank a bit more water than normal during warmups and it’s a good thing they did because of all the pushups they had to do. The…
It’s officially the worst time of the year. Not only are we without any football, but we are just days away from the beginning of free agency which means all we have to digest is a bunch of unsubstantiated wild speculation about possible free agency acquisitions and potential draft picks. It’s the time of year…
Florham Park, N.J. – For the third straight year the Jets finished the season without qualifying for the playoffs, but this felt different. The past two years the feeling of despair cloaked the air in the locker room, this year the energy purging through the locker room was of hope and jubilation. Hope and jubilation…
EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – On the heels of a feel-good, 20-7, win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Jets owner Woody Johnson and general manager John Idzik ended weeks of speculation by announcing that Rex Ryan will return as head coach next season. “After five years of looking at Rex, it’s pretty obvious he’s a…
Florham Park, NJ – The Jets were trailing 30-13 in the 4th quarter. They were on offense and after a delay of game penalty they were backed up to the 23-yard line for a 2nd and 15. Geno Smith clearly had a look of annoyance on his face. The next play he scrambles for 14…
CHARLOTTE, NC – The Jets fell flat in all three phases against Carolina on Sunday, losing 30-20 to the Panthers and all but putting to bed any remaining playoff hopes. The Jets remained competitive until the fourth quarter, but had major breakdowns on offense (Geno Smith pick-six), defense (Cam Newton-DeAngelo Williams 72-yard screen pass touchdown)…
FLORHAM PARK, NJ – Rex Ryan was noncommittal about the future of Stephen Hill on Wednesday after the wide receiver didn’t practice again with a knee injury. “I don’t know. We’ll see. Obviously we’d like to get him out here,” said Ryan, who was unsure about whether Hill will return at all this season. “If…
EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – There were 10 minutes left in Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders when Geno Smith sensed the pocket collapsing and took off. He darted across midfield, past a diving defender and along the sideline for 32 yards and a key first down. Just before the play ended, however, he made a…
FLORHAM PARK, NJ – Rex Ryan went to bat for his rookie class on Wednesday, calling them an “A-plus” group despite their recent struggles. “I mean, if that’s not an A-plus class, I don’t know what you’re looking for,” he said of the 2013 draft class, which has seen five rookie starters, including Dee Milliner,…
East Rutherford, NJ– The Jets dropped their third straight game and the obvious storyline revolves around Geno Smith getting benched at halftime, but equally alarming is the way opposing offenses have figured out how to swiftly attack the Jets and slowly pick them off with simple unders, outs and hitches allowing them to move the…
