Florham Park, NJ – After seven rounds the 2019 NFL draft is officially over but not everyone who entered the draft was fortunate to have their name called to the stage in Nashville. Many of those players’ phones started ringing as soon as Mr. Irrelevant was announced, they know the odds are stacked against them making an NFL roster, draft picks have the security of being attached to their teams GMs and will usually get more time so the GM can hope to be proven right. Undrafted free agents don’t get that same luxury, for them they have to show up and impress immediately and earn their spot on the roster every single day.

Players like ex-Jet Damon Harrison and current Jet receiver Robby Anderson are among the rare undrafted rookies who make the team and keep their spot for multiple years. More often you’ll see players like ex-Jet Jalin Marshall make a team only to be out of the league a year later, sometimes a Doug Middleton can make the team for multiple years, battle through injuries every year and keep coming back because he simply played so well in practice/training camp the coaching staff can’t keep off the roster. But most undrafted free agents never make it out of training camp and never get another shot. This is their shot, their one chance to make a first impression that can possibly last for multiple years.

This year, the players that will be looking to impress the Jets so much that they earned a roster spot can take some comfort in knowing this team still has plenty of needs and if they can get the Jets to believe in them as much as they believe in themselves, they just might make the team. The names of these players will be listed below, tomorrow and Monday we will look at any and all tape we can find on these players and gather as much information about them as possible and have full write-ups on them throughout the week.
