Jets and Atlantic Health Bring Crucial Catch Campaign to Browns Game

The Jets won on the field Sunday, but the club also spent the week on a cause off it: the NFL’s annual cancer-awareness campaign, carried out with Atlantic Health.

The Jets and Atlantic Health joined the NFL and American Cancer Society’s Crucial Catch: Intercept Cancer campaign for the October 11 home game against the Browns. Tight end Kenyon Sadiq and linebacker Demario Davis are the team’s ambassadors, and pediatric patients were invited to serve as honorary captains.

What is the Jets’ Crucial Catch campaign?

It is the club’s local arm of the NFL and American Cancer Society’s Crucial Catch: Intercept Cancer campaign, which the Jets are part of alongside Atlantic Health, according to the club’s October 8 release. Tight end Kenyon Sadiq and linebacker Demario Davis are the 2026 NFL Crucial Catch ambassadors.

Which Jets players visited Atlantic Health Goryeb Children’s Hospital?

Quarterback Geno Smith, defensive lineman Harrison Phillips, guard Joe Tippmann and wide receiver Isaiah Davis visited pediatric patients at Atlantic Health Goryeb Children’s Hospital, the club said. They gave the patients custom Jets jerseys, signed footballs and invitations to serve as honorary captains for the game.

What did the club plan for game day?

According to the club, each child was set to receive a $250 shopping spree, join the team on the field for pregame warmups and watch the game from a suite. One patient who could not attend was set to take part in a gameday shopping spree at the Jets Team Store using a VGo robot. Before kickoff, the Jets and Atlantic Health planned to unfurl a TIFO banner in the south end zone with artwork inspired by children receiving care at Atlantic Health hospitals.

This site has not independently confirmed how each of those plans played out, so the details above are the club’s description of what was scheduled.

Where does the money go?

The club said proceeds from the game’s 50/50 raffle benefit Atlantic Health Goryeb Children’s Hospital. It did not say how much was raised.

How does this fit with the Jets’ week?

The event came on a day the Jets snapped a three-game skid, as covered in our Jets-Browns Week 5 recap. Sadiq, one of the campaign’s ambassadors, left that game and is in the concussion protocol, which we followed in our Sadiq injury report. The club made another off-field announcement last week, when it expanded girls flag football in South London. Our weekly round-up and the Jets games hub keep every game-week story in one place.
