Florham Park, NJ – The New York Jets have officially signed their first-round draft pick. Quinnen Williams has finalized his contract with the Jets and will be on the field for tomorrow’s practice.

The standoff turned into handshakes and now a very rich young man can focus solely on football. The Jets were trying to get Williams to defer over 25 percent of his $21.7 million signing bonus into year two of the contract. Williams wanted the entire signing bonus in year one. We don’t now yet which side won the negotiations but everybody wins with him practicing tomorrow.

Williams will join his teammates for his first training camp and reporters will get a chance to see him in action. How will the Jets use him? Will he line up primarily in one position? Or will they move him all over? How will he fit next to Leonard Williams, Steve McLendon and Henry Anderson?

All these questions will be answered in due time now that they contract is signed. The deal is a four-year deal (with a fifth-year team option) for $32.5 million.
